I recently found this site and think there is some fascinating information to be found when you look at health statistics from different counties across the nation. What’s more fascinating to me, however, is comparing the information that is available for the 67 counties that make up Pennsylvania.
There are 2 large categories of rankings on this site: Health Outcomes and Health Factors. Health Outcomes represent how healthy a county is whereas Health Factors represent what influences the health of a county.
Looking at these overall rankings for the state of Pennsylvania, I was very interested to see that Montgomery County is ranked #5 out of all of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties in Health Outcomes and ranked #2 in Health Factors.
When you drill down to look at the Snapshot of Montgomery County’s health statistics, you can see how these rankings are derived.
How do you feel about this report and what information do you think we can get out of these statistics?
