In the 18th century, distilling was a process used to produce domestic medicines as well as alcoholic beverages. Foodways historian Dr. Clarissa F. Dillon will discuss both kinds of
products as well as different types of stills. She holds a permit to distill for research purposes and will bring along a display of distillations she has prepared from historic recipes.
