Meadowbrook Farm has the next best thing. The majestic estate and gardens in the Meadowbrook section of Abington Township will be decorated for a proper English tea – with a decidedly Bohemian, rustic flair – at the Spring Open House on Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bright seasonal colors and funky found objects, showcasing the garden center’s exceptional plants and horticultural accessories, will distinguish this modern tea party designed by Gretchen Kish, of Nectars Landscape & Design.
The Spring Open House will offer inspiring ways to transform your castle – or your backyard, patio, sill and porch — with outstanding Gold Medal plants, chosen by Pennsylvania Horticultural Society experts for their beauty and quality; blooming bulbs, savory herbs, and gorgeous hanging baskets. Special Mother’s Day gifts will be a featured for the queen of your realm.
Children are invited to become honorary members of the PHS City Harvest program and plant their own herbs at the Open House. Other highlights of the Spring Open House will be live music, fantastic food offered by Curds ‘n Whey, and self-guided tours of the 1930s Cotswold-style house and amazing gardens.
