We’ve seemed to have skipped Spring here in the Philadelphia region, but the latter half of this week has provided such a refreshing taste of what Spring should be. My little family has taken every opportunity to visit the playground, take walks and just be silly outside as much as possible. With all this extra activity that the winter months seemingly stole from us with the cold weather, a little extra snack here and there is needed to sustain my kids and help them make it to dinnertime for a decent meal. Well, as decent of a meal that a toddler and preschooler will eat.
I was asked to review the new Fridge Pack line by Sargento which is available in Light String Cheese, Colby-Jack Cheese and Mild Cheddar Cheese. As noted by the company, these cheese snacks hold true to the 100% natural and never processed standards of all Sargento cheese. How great is that? I can feel confident that my children, and myself, can grab a quick snack while on the go. After all, as a mom, I can’t count the number of times I’ve left the house and sighed to myself when I remembered I forgot to eat a meal let alone a snack!
I’ve been trying to replace our typical cracker-type snack foods with some healthier options. I just recently passed some wonderfully smelling cantaloupes at our local Wegman’s and couldn’t resist. I’m also planning on visiting two, local-to-me farmer’s markets in Collegeville and Skippack to check out their food items for sale. Something I hadn’t considered for my carb-o-holic kids was the simple addition of cheese with their crackers. They love love love cheese. And cheese in a stick form, forget it, they are over the moon! As you can see from the picture in this post, the boxes are placed front and center in our fridge for easy access!
We’ve been hooked on the new Fridge Pack all week, and I can say that my one issue is that that boys want to keep eating it! I have to remind them that it is a snack. It also came in handy when I was rushing out the door to an appointment. I was able to grab one stick of the Mild Cheddar Cheese and that helped me get through the afternoon until dinnertime. I’m not a huge fan of the Light String Cheese, but the Colby-Jack and Mild Cheddar were favorites in our house!
