Style Your Sole
While Contributing to a Good Cause
Willow Grove Park is hosting the Style Your Sole event on Saturday, July 23 to give shoppers the chance to have TOMS Shoes personalized with style and ultimately provide children in need with shoes. The event takes place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and customers who purchase a pair of TOMS at either Journeys or Shi by Journeys at Willow Grove Park can get their shoes decorated by talented local artists for free, turning them into statements of self-expression. Artists include Chris Narisi, Jennifer Storer, Denise Mihalik, Charles Rios and Kate Dipinto. Also, these shoppers will also support TOMS’ mission to provide a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair sold. To date, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children through giving partners around the world.
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need.
