Getting out the door in the morning can be challenging for anyone at times but when you have kids, that can make it near impossible (seems that way to me, anyway). Here are 4 tips to getting your little ones out the door in a timely manner.
- Have your kids help you pick out their clothing the night before. I never thought this would work with my daughter because I, myself, can’t stick to what I choose before hand. Surprisingly, as long as she has as ay in it, she sticks to the plan in the morning.
- Get all school and activity items for the next day after you and your children finish your evening routine. Every family has some sort of routine that has to end before dinner or bedtime. This is perfect time to put away things from the previous day and get ready for the next
- Make breakfast easy. Things like pancakes waffles and biscuits freeze really well. Make them ahead or buy frozen so that you can begin heating them when you start your coffee. Oatmeal and cream of wheat are hearty meals for cool mornings. Cereal and breakfast bars are obvious choices. Juice and Milk cups can be filled ahead of time.
- Set your bedroom clock five minutes ahead. A small buffer can make a big difference in your morning routine.
Quick and Easy Breakfast Sandwich
a. Pre-cooked bacon or Canadian Bacon
b. 1 egg
c. 1 slice cheese of choice
d. 1 muffin, roll or biscuit
Beat egg and pour into a small round microwave safe dish coated with cooking pray. Microwave for about one minute. Toast biscuit or muffin and place a piece of cheese on it to melt slightly. Slide cooked egg out of dish and onto your choice of bread. Top with your choice of meat and place the other half of the bread on top. YUM!
