I had the pleasure of visiting a new business with a new (to our area) concept that could save many of us moms in a pinch. KidsPark Willow Grove opened this fall, and is an hourly day care service available 7 days a week. Registered members at KidsPark can drop their children (ages 18 months – 12 years) off at the location and be assured that their children are safe, and will have a blast. This colorful building offers a craft center/dining area, pretend play, Movie Theater, ‘outdoor’ sport court and indoor playground, as well as a toddler-only area, and an area just for the older kids (6-12).
As I spoke with the CEO/Owner, Felice Parker, my little lovelies ran amok enjoying every aspect of this wonderland. Also in progress was their preschool program, available Monday through Friday from 9-11:30am. This accredited program is taught by a certified preschool teacher, and includes what you’d expect from any preschool program; learning, free-play, snack time and crafts! If you drop your child off during the preschool program hours, they are welcome to join in on the activities, what a great bonus!
Snacks are also available throughout the day, as well as meals (for an extra cost). Food may be brought in, but the facility is peanut-free. Fees for all services are located online at www.kidspark.com/center/willow-grove
The December schedule alone is full with lots of different themed activities each and every day, such as Gingerbread houses, winter wonderland, National Ice Cream Day, cooking club, Polar Express party (movie included). Check out their full schedule online at www.kidspark.com/center/willow-grove
KidsPark Willow Grove is the 13th location in the country, with the headquarters and majority of locations on the west coast, so Felice Parker felt it was a great concept to bring to the east coast, and from what I can tell, many parents think so too.
One of the first things I noticed when I walked in was the bright colors, the cleanliness and the safety (i.e. outlet covers, alarmed gate to notify of rogue kids). My kids on the other hand went straight for the toys and indoor slide, as well they should. The kitchen/house-play area was also a winner with my almost 4-year old daughter. And in true fashion, my almost 2-year old son had a blast catapulting trucks down the slide.
While I’ve been very lucky to have awesome neighbors and babysitters so close to home, I’m actually quite comforted knowing that if ever I was in need of babysitting services for an emergency or a last minute date night, I could count on KidsPark to keep my kids not only safe, but occupied and entertained. That’s a win-win situation for everyone!
With Christmas right around the corner, shopping is never an easy task when little ones are in town, so I could definitely see utilizing their services for those last minute shopping trips!
KidsPark Willow Grove can receive a $5 discount on the fee (normally $25)
if you mention this blog post by 12/20!
