My family and I were invited to experience A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place this past weekend as part of their Media Day event. Embarrassingly, we ran out of gas on the Turnpike (our car’s range gauge lied! 47 miles left in our tank was not the case). We finally made it to the park (2 hours late, but still) and it was surprisingly windy and cold. The weather changed really quickly. The parking lot and the park itself felt wide open, so I suggest you come armed with blankets, multiple layers of clothes, mittens, hats…anything to keep warm. Then you will be set to enjoy the fun!
Right when we arrived, people were lining up for the parade. So we got front row spots and waited. The boys were a little upset about the cold (we, of course, forgot the mittens) but when they heard the characters over the loud speaker letting everyone know the parade was 15 minutes away (and again 10 minutes, then 5 minutes), they calmed down and got really excited.
The parade itself was a lot of fun, very festive. We had Grover run right in front of us giving high fives. The boys couldn’t take their eyes off all the fun. When they passed us, we decided to go in search of mittens. The boys each got a new pair and we were ready to explore the rides. As the sun set, the Christmas lights lit up and the park glowed.
We missed the shows, everyone was really tired. But the rides we went on and the lights in the park made it a fantastic experience. Make sure to check the park hours before you go!
