After becoming a mom, the way I cleaned my home suddenly became very different. I went from the normal cleaning products I’ve always used, to researching “green” products that were safe for my kids. I purchased a floor steamer that only used water and was content I was doing a good thing for my family. Sometimes the steamer would flood the floor, but I could deal with that.
When Shark contacted me about reviewing their Steam & Spray Mop, I jumped at the chance to try it out. My husband grumbled about another steamer, but I wanted to see what it could do.
It came with a cleanser that is biodegradable, non-toxic, and safe for kids and pets. It’s multi-surface, so I didn’t have to worry about using it on my many different floor types. And I didn’t HAVE to use it, I could just use the steamer if I wanted to. I did read that you could use just the spray as well without plugging in the mop, it works on battery! But what blew me away when I finally got my hands on the mop? The cleaner came with a cap that inserts into the mop and stays there. No pouring cleanser into the machine or another container. How simple but brilliant.
The mop also comes with a reusable pad and two disposable pads! I love that! I tried it out with a disposable pad and I definitely love that I could throw that thing away. We had all just been sick and I was trying to disinfect the whole house. To me, that calls for a disposable pad. 🙂
I am very happy with the way this mop cleaned my floor. There were 3 steam settings for different floor types or how tough you need the mop to clean. A little cup came for filling the water tank which made things easy. My last steamer was so difficult to pour into, I needed a funnel to get the job done without spilling all over the place. This mop was easy to set up and easy to clean with. My floor was slightly damp afterward and dried quickly, I didn’t have to get paper towels out to dry it up like I was used to.
The next day, my dog tracked mud throughout the kitchen. I just took out the shark and used the spray function by itself, leaving the chord (which, by the way, is 25 feet long!) tied up. This is definitely made for busy moms!
I was offered a Steam & Spray Mop from Shark to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
