I love Christmastime at Hershey. My husband suggested a brand new tradition last year where we head to Hershey Park for “Christmas Eve Eve”, ride some rides, drink some hot chocolate, have a nice dinner, and end the night driving through Hershey Sweet Lights. This year, we were fortunate to have been provided the tickets for Candylane and Sweet Lights.
With Christmas Eve Eve on a Monday, Candylane was only open from 5-9 pm while Sweet Lights was open from 5-10 pm. But we realized we could still go up earlier and visit Hershey’s Chocolate World first. Chocolate World has various fun activities, a food court, Santa, and of course, lots and lots of Chocolate!
We started with the tour and watched our sons’ eyes get wider and wider as they realized the process was making candy. CANDY! At the end, we were given little sample sized Rolo packs which were devoured almost instantly. We enjoyed a quick lunch and then decided to try out the Hershey’s Kisses Packaging where my oldest received a factory worker hat, took a picture for his badge, and then was taken through the process of “packaging” kisses by catching them off of an assembly line, then shaking and dancing with the container and then finally putting it through the final belt to be “processed”. And out popped the final product which we decided to purchase because our son was just too proud of his work. The experience is free though!
Half way through, we took a walk down to watch N.O.E.L. – Nights of Extraordinary Lights! show. You stand on a bridge, over the water and watch the lights dance to different songs. It’s a lot of fun! After a few more rides, we left the park to head to our reservation at Harvest in the Hotel Hershey.
Last but in no way least, we headed to Hershey Sweet Lights which wasn’t far from the Hotel Hershey. You are given glasses that make all points of light look like snowflakes and it takes about 30-45 minutes to drive through. The boys loved looking for the hiding Rudolphs that popped out at us and naming all of the shapes/characters. This may be my favorite part of the experience!
We were provided tickets to Hersheypark Christmas Candylane & Hershey Sweet Lights to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
