Disclosure: I was provided tickets to Peanut Butter & Jams to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
This past Saturday, I took my kids to Peanut Butter & Jams at World Cafe Live in University City. Peanut Butter and Jams is a weekly concert series offering a fun musical experience for kids and their parents. Featuring different
musical artists each week, there’s definitely something for everyone at Peanut Butter & Jams.
The kids and I were very excited to see Jazzy Ash & the Leaping Lizards perform their unique brand of New Orleans Jazz. We arrived at World Cafe Live (yay for ample street parking!) just as Jazzy Ash and her band took the stage. Jazzy Ash’s stunning voice and kid-centric songs were a hit with the crowd, and all the kids had a blast dancing and singing along for the duration of the show. My kiddos particularly enjoyed Jazzy’s songs, ‘Jitterbug’ and ‘Throw Me Something Mista’.
There was plenty of seating for the sizable crowd, and even colorful mats available for those who preferred to sit on the floor. That being said, Jazzy Ash’s upbeat tunes had most people on their feet throughout the concert. The band put on a great show, complete with guest performers and audience participation. My kids danced and sang along the entire time, totally captivated.
We had a fantastic time at World Cafe Live, and definitely look forward to attending more Peanut Butter & Jams concerts in the future. For $10 a ticket, kids are not only introduced to a wide range of musical genres, but also a live musical experience. While the featured acts cater to the little ones, parents are sure to enjoy PB&J’s quality performances (and watching their kids get down on the dance floor). Pizza, light snacks and beverages are also available for purchase, making Peanut Butter & Jams one stop shopping for a fun afternoon in the city for the whole family.
