Disclosure: I was provided one pair of Stinky McGee suspenders and one pair of Livie & Luca shoes to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
It looks like Spring is finally here, which means its time to break out the shorts and tees (ok…that may be a little premature. We’re still in PA, after all.) and get ready for warm weather and sunshine. Here are two of my favorite ways to dress up your children’s springtime outfits.
Stinky McGee Ties
I love a well dressed fella, don’t you? Made with love in Brooklyn, Stinky McGee offers ties, bow ties and suspenders for style-conscious boys ages 0-7. Featuring a variety of fabulous fabrics straight from the Garment District, Stinky McGee is bound to have the perfect piece to complete any ensemble. From mod patterns to preppy prints, Stinky McGee has your little guy covered.
When our Mustard Houndstooth suspenders arrived, I literally squealed. A weird, high-pitched, awkward squeal that made me grateful that only my kids were around to hear it. The squeal was a direct result of the overwhelming cuteness of those itty bitty suspenders. I mean…so little! So adorable! I couldn’t wait to get them on my son.
Not only are the suspenders darling, but they are incredibly well made. I am a stickler for quality and I know my way around a sewing machine, so I will often analyze how things are put together. I was very impressed with the quality of the suspenders. My little guy has crawled, walked, run, rolled, catapulted, slept and spilled in these suspenders, and they still look brand spanking new. They’re exceptionally durable and very easy to clean. They’re designed with comfort and ease of wear in mind, and are also made to adjust as baby grows. I’m super psyched that my little guy will be able to wear them for at least another year!
But great quality and attention to detail aside, how freaking cute is a little boy in suspenders??!
In addition to adorable ties and suspenders, Stinky McGee also offers beanies (I can’t even…so cute), scarves, bibs (well, bibdannas…which are awesome), Mighty McGee superhero capes and masks, bow tie sets for father and son, and Mini McGee onesies with a variety of snap on ties for easy laundering. Leave it to Stinky McGee, and your little man will be looking dapper in no time!
Livie & Luca Shoes
I love kids shoes. Maybe it’s the bright colors and fun designs, or the fact that they’re so cute and little. For those mamas out there who also have an appreciation for bright shoes with bold designs, let me introduce you to Livie & Luca. Specializing in handmade (handmade!!) shoes from eco-conscious and kid-safe materials, Livie & Luca offers adorable modern shoes for boys and girls in sizes 0 to Youth 4. With modern designs, durable materials and quality construction, both kids and moms will fall in love with this brand.
When my daughter’s darling yellow ‘Hedgie’ shoes arrived, she was beyond excited. She giggled at the sight of the darling gray leather hedgehog embellishment, and couldn’t wait to put her on her new yellow shoes. In fact, I’m fairly certain my daughter hasn’t taken her Hedgies off in at least a month. I’m not going to lie…she has insisted on sleeping in them on at least two occasions. I let her.
The soft leather shoes have a durable rubber sole, a Velcro strap (easy for little ones to get on and off themselves), and a soft bright pink leather lining. They also offer plenty of support and extra cushion on the back for added comfort. They’re very easy to spot clean, and can be cared for just as any leather shoe. Livie & Luca’s handmade leather shoes are exceptional quality. My daughter is very active, and her Hedgies have been through a lot – mud puddles, playgrounds, gravel, snow – but they still look as new as the day we got them. They’re the perfect accessory for dressier occasions, but they’re still built tough enough for play time!
With a great selection of awesome shoes for both boys and girls, Livie & Luca has your little ones covered in any season. I’ve already picked out about 36 pairs of shoes I want to order for my kids for the next 5 years!
