We still have a long way to go before our house is exactly the way we want it. One thing that stands in the way of updating all at once is budget, which I know is true for many families. Even in DIY, things can get pricey. The trick is to find the stores and sites that stretch your budget while still providing amazing quality.
I was fortunate to get to work on another review for Unhinge and I’m yet again so impressed with them. They sent me these gorgeous lever style knobs & hinges for all 19 of our interior doors of our home so I could try them out for myself and pass along the incredible value to you. What did I learn? For under $150 ($142 + free shipping for orders over $100 to be exact), anyone could update the knobs in their whole house all at once. That, my friends, is an amazing price.
The knobs themselves are an antique nickel, heavy and solid. Compared to our previous hollow, brass knobs (which I found on Home Depot’s site for $9 each!), these are luxurious. You would never guess that these are priced at less than $10 each. We’ll talk about how to pick out the right function and door handing in another post next week, but the pricing starts at $4.02 for a dummy knob up to $9.83 for an “Entrance” knob.
Installation of the different types of knobs were all easy, taking minutes for each. Standard holes from your old knobs should work just fine, so all you do is take those out and put these in.
And the hinges…I know I’m a huge dork but even the hinges made me super happy. They are this brushed finish, heavy with a smooth open/close motion. They fixed so many of the squeaky, hard to open doors with little adjustment needed. We chose the 3-1/2″ Ball Bearing hinges with 5/8″ corner radius in Pewter and they replaced the existing hinges perfectly.
Even if you’re not a bargain shopper, who doesn’t love to save money while still getting high quality products for their home? Go ahead, update those knobs you’ve been waiting forever to do!
Disclosure: We were provided products of our choice from Unhinge to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
