This Saturday marks the official grand opening of Jamba Juice in Willow Grove. Originating in California, Jamba Juice is a chain of health based cafes specializing in fresh, all-natural juices and smoothies. They also offer a light menu of energy bowls, steel-cut oatmeal, flatbreads, wraps and sandwiches. Frankly, it’s the fast food I’ve been waiting for.
My children and I recently visited the brand new Willow Grove location to see what the buzz was all about. We met the owner, Andreana Chryssos, who showed us around and welcomed us to the Jamba Juice experience. Everything on the menu – from the juices and smoothies to the wraps and flatbreads – is made-to-order and can be tailored to meet your needs. There are no sneaky ingredients at Jamba Juice – what you see is what you get (and what you get is delicious). Every juice, smoothie and energy bowl is jam packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, plus two full servings of fruits and/or vegetables. Various additions or ‘boosts’ are also available, like chia seeds, green tea, whey, and kale. And did I mention that there’s a kids smoothie menu? My little ones were in heaven.
I sampled the Great Greens juice, which was a freshly made and super delicious blend of cucumber, apple, spinach, kale, lemon juice and chia seeds. My little ones both had Strawberries Gone Bananas smoothies from the kids menu, which they promptly devoured. I also tried a Carrot Orange Fusion smoothie, which tasted like an amazingly healthy and incredibly yummy creamsicle. I could easily have one of these smoothies every day and never tire of it. The kids and I shared (and by share, I mean my daughter let me have a bite and then refused to share more with me OR her brother) an amazing Acai Primo energy bowl. The Primo bowl is basically a smoothie topped with yummy healthy stuff – a frozen blend of blueberries, strawberries, soymilk, bananas and acai topped with granola, honey, coconut and fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas. Yum yum YUM. I was actually pretty devastated that my daughter hogged the whole thing. I also tried a wheatgrass shot, which despite my initial hesitation and much to my surprise, was actually quite delicious!
I think Jamba Juice is the perfect new addition to the Willow Grove area. As a health-conscious mom constantly on the go, its reassuring to know that there are ‘fast food’ options that aren’t well, fast food. Trust me, your kids won’t know these yummy smoothies are so good for them!
Be sure to visit Jamba Juice this Saturday, August 8 from 11-2pm for Family Fun Day!
