The sun is shining (finally) and Easter is almost upon us, and you know what that means! That’s right – it’s time for the annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Shady Brook Farm. This season event in Yardley, PA is one of my family’s favorite traditions, and this year proved to be bigger and better than ever before!
For those of you that haven’t visited Shady Brook Farm before, the festival field has a wonderful variety of regular attractions in addition to their seasonal offerings. Kids can play in one of the 4 bounce houses, jump on the two incredibly fun jumping pillows, mine for gemstones, feed farm animals, race go-carts, enjoy fair-style treats (funnel cake for the win), and play on the awesome newly expanded playground. Shady Brook hasn’t forgotten about the grown-ups, either. They’ve added a bar (Wine or beer anyone? This girl. Right here. Oh, wait. I’m preggers…) and a stage area for their summer wine concert series (I will have delivered the twins by then…score!) plus a special family-friendly diaper changing and nursing room. Shady Brook wins MAJOR extra points for supporting breastfeeding mamas and families dealing with diaper blowouts on the go. We’ve all been there, amiright?
The Easter Eggstravaganza features all of the previously mentioned activities, plus a hayride out to the egg hunting grounds (BYO basket) and take-your-own photos with the Easter Bunny himself in a super cute Easter-themed display! Each child can take six candy-filled eggs from the hunting grounds, and gets to choose a special prize at the end of the hayride. Everyone’s a winner at Shady Brook Farm!
Shady Brook Farm’s Easter Eggstravaganza continues April 13-15 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The ticket booth closes at 4:00pm. Tickets are $10 per child, $5 per adult. More details can be found on the Shady Brook Farm website here.
