Disclosure: I was provided BabyIt Perineal Massage & Postpartum Recovery Gel and Peapod Tea for Two to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
If you’re expecting, you’ve probably looked into ways to make your pregnancy and delivery as comfortable as possible. Fairhaven Health has developed several prenatal products that will help you through pregnancy and beyond!
I’ve enjoyed Tea for Two Pregnancy Tea throughout my entire current pregnancy. The natural blend of herbal tea leaves supports both mom and baby by keeping the uterus toned, relaxed and prepped for labor and delivery. In addition to its remarkable toning properties, Tea for Two also works wonders when it comes to relieving morning sickness and nausea. Trust me, I’m an expert when it comes to morning sickness, and this tea was a total lifesaver! I’ve enjoyed several cups a day throughout my pregnancy, and I really love the tea’s mild and refreshing tangy taste. The tea contains strawberry leaf (used for centuries to promote healthy pregnancy), ginger root to ease nausea, alfalfa (a great source of Vitamin K), oatstraw to alleviate stress, dandelion root to relieve fluid retention and provide iron, potassium and calcium, and lemon verbena for flavor. The tea is delicious both hot and cold. Tea for Two has become a relaxing ritual during my pregnancy, and I have to admit that surprisingly, of all my pregnancies, this one has been my most relaxed and comfortable…and I’m carrying identical twins!
In addition to the Tea for Two, Fairhaven also offers BabyIt, a popular perineal massage gel. I wasn’t terribly knowledgeable about perineal massage, but it seems like every time I turn around I see an article promoting the practice. As it turns out, perineal massage is an ancient method of regular prenatal massage designed to stretch and prepare the birth canal prior to delivery. If done correctly and consistently, perineal massage decreases tearing and/or the need for episiotomy during birth.
Baby It perineal massage gel is designed to make this process as easy and comfortable as possible. It’s isotonic, ph-balanced and paraben free, making it completely safe for both mom and baby. It comes with a helpful step by step guide to help you through the process. Post-delivery, you can continue to use Baby It in many ways. It aids in postpartum recovery by soothing those sensitive and sore delivery-related areas, it can gently treat, moisturize and soothe Baby’s delicate skin, and it can even prevent discomfort when you’re ready to have sex again.
While it may not be a traditionally discussed aspect of pregnancy, perineal massage could potentially alleviate a LOT of discomfort during delivery and postpartum recovery. Better safe than sorry, amiright?
