The ‘fast casual’ pizza chain is based in Seattle with locations nationwide. Offering made on demand pizzas and salads, the MOD menu allows you to choose from one of their specialty options, or create your own pizza or salad using the 30+ available toppings. No matter much many toppings you choose, the price stays the same. That information made this extremely pregnant lady very VERY happy. Bring on the toppings!
In addition to the fixed menu offerings, create-your-own-options, sides (the garlic strips are heavenly), and milkshakes, the MOD menu also features seasonal options throughout the year. I decided to give the current seasonal pizza – the Crosby – a try. The Crosby pretty much includes all of my favorite ingredients on a delicious homemade crust. The blend of asparagus, fennel-infused sausage, mozzarella, fig balsamic glaze, MOD’s signature red sauce AND a sprinkle of sea salt is quite frankly, perfection. While the unusual combination of toppings may seem daunting, the Crosby is a must-try menu item. It’s seriously delicious. If you’re at a MOD anytime between now and July 10, you should definitely give the Crosby a try. You won’t regret it!
My kiddos LOVED their cheese and pepperoni pizzas (and I enjoyed finishing their crusts). My husband went with a ham, pineapple and bbq sauce concoction that was quite delicious. So delicious, in fact, that I was told several times – and I quote – to ‘back off’ his pizza. I also loved taste testing the variety of flavored iced teas MOD offered, and the kids were kind enough to share a few sips of their yummy milkshakes with Mom. I was also pleased to learn that MOD is BYO, so I’ll have to visit MOD again after the twins arrive with some Modelo in hand.
We were very pleased with our MOD pizza experience. The staff was friendly, the service was speedy, the food was delicious and the cost of a meal for a family of four was super reasonable! Next time you’re in the mood for pizza, I definitely recommend giving MOD a try!
